As part of this project, a new link was created between the town centre and the future school site. The promenade was complemented by a modern sports and leisure complex and a variety of green spaces.
Our services initially comprised site clearance and extensive earthworks for the entire project area. A key component was the piping of an existing drainage ditch beneath the future promenade. In addition, we constructed pathways, the promenade, play and sports areas – including ball-catch fences – and integrated various features into the outdoor facilities.
To landscape the site, we planted 25 specimen trees and around 1,800 shrubs. In addition, we laid out lawns, playing fields and meadows using regional seed, and carried out the restoration of an existing biotope. Particular challenges arose from the start of construction during the wet season, the need to lower the groundwater level during the pipework, and the highly cohesive soil conditions. Furthermore, all soil excavation work towards the town centre was carried out in close consultation with the archaeological heritage protection authorities.
